List of College Hockey Programs

  • Increase your prospects of getting recruited by making sure you end up in a junior league that is heavily scouted by the NCAA. See this list of the top leagues from the 2006/2007 recruiting year.

College Hockey Inc.

  • Receives funding from Hockey USA and the NHL to market and promote college hockey. They have great resources for contracting coaches, understanding recruiting rules and stories on the experiences of NCAA grads.

NCAA Coach Contact Info

  • College Hockey Inc. publishes a list of all the NCAA DI head coach’s phone numbers and email address. Don’t be shy, get in the game and contact the schools you want to get recruited by. You can also check out the recruiting basics, and common questions for coaches. 

NCAA Coaches, Players and Writters on Twitter

  • Did you know that NCAA coaches follow recruits on Twitter? Oh yeah. Find out who they are following and get you name in the game. Check out this list and see,  for example, what  Coach Tom Newton of Michigan State University is sayin.

NHL Central Scouting Rubric

  • How can you get recruited if you don’t know what scouts are looking for? NHL Central Scouting publishes their rubric that they use to grade players. Focus on these skills to improve your game and impress scouts.

NHL Central Scouting Players to Watch List

  • Get on this list, NCAA and CHL scouts will be all over you. It lists where players have committed to, but the ones who haven’t quickly find themselves getting watched more often. John Wires’ showed up (unexpectedly)  on the list in October 2001 and he signed a letter of intent for a full scholarship in November. Work smart at getting on this interim list.
